HomeLink Energy 0.5.0
Renewable energy production measured in HE (HomeLink Energy): solar panels, wind turbines, a hydro branch, batteries and copper cables, all tied to the shared energy network and exposed through the public HomeCore API.
Solar panels#
| Block | Footprint | Output / clear cycle | Buffer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solar Panel I | 1×1 | 2,000 HE | 1,000 HE |
| Solar Panel II | 2×1 | 8,000 HE | 1,000 HE |
| Solar Panel III | 2×2 | 20,000 HE | 1,000 HE |
Reference cycle: 24,000 ticks (sine curve 0→12,000, then none). Clear 100%, rain 40%, storm 15%. Strict exposure: any non-air block above blocks production, even glass or water.
Exact recipes (vanilla table). Icons: 3D render of the blocks, as in the inventory; items (ingots, components…) keep their real texture.
Wind turbines#
| Block | Footprint | Nominal / 24,000 ticks |
|---|---|---|
| Wind Turbine I | 1×1 | 3,000 HE |
| Wind Turbine II | 2×1 | 12,000 HE |
| Wind Turbine III | 2×2 | 28,000 HE |
They produce day and night. Wind evolves gradually per dimension; rain multiplies output by 1.25, a storm by 1.60, hub altitude adds a bonus, capped at 150%. The nominal assumes 100% wind, clear sky and a hub between Y80 and Y119.
Hydro#
| Block | Role | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Hydro Pump I / II / III | Captures the water current | Three throughput tiers, linked to pipes. |
| Hydro Pipe | Water transport | Crafted in batches of 4; links pumps and turbine. |
| Hydro Turbine | Generation | A 2×2×2 structure converting the flow into HE. |
The hydro branch produces continuously as long as it receives a water flow: the pumps feed a 2×2×2 turbine through pipes. It is the most stable base source, independent of weather and the day/night cycle.
Batteries#
| Block | Capacity | Max throughput (each way) |
|---|---|---|
| Battery I | 40,000 HE | 8 HE/t |
| Battery II | 120,000 HE | 32 HE/t |
| Battery III | 320,000 HE | 128 HE/t |
A battery placed directly under a panel or turbine receives energy automatically. The network distributes: producers → consumers, surplus → batteries, batteries → remaining consumers, never battery to battery.
Cables#
Thin tracks placed like redstone, on floor, wall or ceiling, needing a support (solid face or HE port). The network is recomputed on every structural change, capped at 1,024 nodes.
Integration#
The Farm, Quarry, Storage and Dashboard machines consume HE through HomeCore's energy contract (EnergyApi.BLOCK). All four declare HomeLink Energy as a required dependency in their neoforge.mods.toml: Farm, Quarry and Storage require [0.5.0,1.0.0), Dashboard [0.1.0,1.0.0). Without HomeLink Energy, none of the four will load.
Install#
Copy homelink_energy-0.5.0.jar and homecore-1.14.0.jar into mods/, on both client and server. HomeCore is required and is not bundled in the Energy JAR.
